1. Purpose

This Force Majeure Policy (“Policy”) explains how GlobeOTA addresses situations where bookings, travel services, or contractual obligations are affected by extraordinary events that are beyond the reasonable control of GlobeOTA, its partners, customers, or service providers.

The purpose of this Policy is to establish a fair and transparent approach to managing disruptions while balancing the interests of customers, partners, and GlobeOTA.

This Policy applies to hotel bookings, holiday packages, activities, transportation services, and other travel-related services booked through the GlobeOTA Platform.

2. What is Force Majeure?

A Force Majeure Event is an event or circumstance that:

* Is beyond the reasonable control of the affected party;

* Could not reasonably have been anticipated or prevented; and

* Makes it impossible, illegal, unsafe, or commercially impracticable to perform contractual obligations.

3. Examples of Force Majeure Events

Examples include, but are not limited to:

* Earthquakes

* Floods

* Cyclones

* Hurricanes

* Tornadoes

* Landslides

* Lightning

* Wildfires

* Severe storms

* Epidemics or pandemics

* Government-imposed travel restrictions

* Curfews

* Lockdowns

* War or armed conflict

* Terrorist attacks

* Civil unrest or riots

* National emergencies

* Airport closures

* Railway disruptions

* Road closures due to natural events

* Major utility failures

* Government orders affecting travel or accommodation

* Other extraordinary events beyond reasonable control.

Routine weather conditions, seasonal rainfall, predictable traffic congestion, or operational issues that could reasonably have been managed generally do not constitute Force Majeure Events.

4. Effect on Bookings

Where a Force Majeure Event affects a booking, GlobeOTA may, depending on the circumstances:

* Assist in rescheduling the booking.

* Coordinate with the accommodation provider or service partner.

* Facilitate booking modifications where permitted.

* Assist with cancellation requests.

* Process refunds where applicable and approved by the relevant service provider or required by law.

* Offer travel credits or alternative arrangements where available.

Each case will be assessed individually.

5. Responsibilities of Customers

Customers affected by a Force Majeure Event should:

* Contact GlobeOTA as soon as reasonably possible.

* Provide their booking reference number.

* Follow official travel advisories.

* Cooperate with GlobeOTA and relevant service providers.

* Provide any supporting documentation requested, where applicable.

Customers are encouraged not to travel where official authorities advise against doing so.

6. Responsibilities of Partners

Accommodation providers, activity operators, transport providers, and other partners should:

* Notify GlobeOTA promptly of any Force Majeure Event affecting their services.

* Provide accurate operational updates.

* Cooperate in identifying reasonable alternatives.

* Honour revised bookings where mutually agreed.

* Update inventory and availability as required.

Partners should make reasonable efforts to minimise disruption to travellers.

7. Refunds

Refund eligibility during a Force Majeure Event depends on several factors, including:

* The policies of the accommodation or service provider.

* Whether the service has already been partially or fully delivered.

* Applicable contractual terms.

* Payment status.

* Requirements under applicable law.

Where refunds are approved:

* Refunds will generally be processed using the original payment method unless otherwise agreed or required by law.

* Processing times may vary depending on the payment provider and the service partner.

GlobeOTA does not guarantee refunds where suppliers are unable or unwilling to provide refunds, except where required by applicable law or under GlobeOTA’s own contractual obligations.

8. Alternative Arrangements

Where reasonably possible, GlobeOTA may assist customers by coordinating:

* Alternative accommodation.

* Revised travel dates.

* Alternative activities.

* Provide operational updates as information becomes available.

* Coordinate with partners to facilitate reasonable solutions.

Response times may be longer than usual during large-scale events.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, GlobeOTA shall not be liable for delays, cancellations, losses, damages, or additional expenses arising directly from a Force Majeure Event.

GlobeOTA acts as a travel marketplace and booking facilitator and does not control events beyond the reasonable control of accommodation providers, transport operators, activity providers, governmental authorities, or other third parties.

Nothing in this Policy limits any rights available to consumers under applicable law.
